Starting this month, Google Chrome (which represents 58% of the the browser market share) now marks all websites as either β€œSecure” or β€œNot Secure.” Site visitors can quickly identify a Secure website with the green padlock icon and URL prefix https:. Equally as identifiable is a Not Secure website, marked with a warning message.

Over the past few months, Flow has been working with our clients to take the necessary steps to secure their websites and ensure data security and peace of mind for their site visitors.

How it works

The main distinction between a website marked as β€œSecure” or β€œNot Secure” is based on whether or not the website has obtained a SSL certificate. Obtaining this certificate verifies that all communications between the site visitor’s browser and the website are encrypted, making it impossible for a third party to access any shared data.

Benefits of obtaining a SSL Certificate

  • Improved security
  • β€œSecure” lock icon in URL
  • Maintains user trust
  • Improved SEO ranking
  • Increased conversions for gathering user information
  • Decreased bounce rate by fostering trust
  • Safely accept credit cards on your website

Flow can help you to obtain a SSL certificate for your website and ensure the security and user experience of all those who visit it, simply contact us by scanning the QR code below or email [email protected].
