Unlike the global search engine market where Google has an undisputed dominance, the search engine landscape in China is dynamic and competitive.
Baidu is still the market leader with 54.02% (64% in 2013), but its competitors are quickly catching up. The prominent antivirus provider 360’s search engine is now at 29% (18% in 2013) and Sogou is 3rd, controlling almost 15% of the market (10% in 2013).
Online marketers should forget about Google when developing their strategy for China, since the search giant’s market share converges towards 0%.
